Celebrities Who Overcame Infertility Struggles
Often we think that celebrities are exempt from the everyday struggles and problems that plague the rest of us. We forget that underneath the professional makeup and designer clothing, they are simply people, just like you or I. The dream of motherhood for these stars was dashed many times before they met with success. It just proves that fame and fortune does not equal happiness.
Actress Courteney Cox, who is most widely known for her long time role as Monica Geller on Friends, spent years trying to have a baby with husband David Arquette. “I get pregnant pretty easily, but I have a hard time keeping them… [David and I> bounce back pretty quickly. I don't say it's a walk in the park. But what are you going to do? We just try again."
After an IVF treatment, Courteney Cox became pregnant and was able to carry the baby to term, resulting in the birth of daughter Coco Riley Arquette in May of 2004. Though Coco's parents have since divorced, they maintain a friendly relationship and both are very involved in her life.
The lovely actress and model Brooke Shields has been in the celebrity spotlight since she was a child. Brooke and husband Chris Henchy battled infertility through a whopping seven rounds of in vitro fertilization treatments, which resulted in one miscarriage.
After two years of IVF treatments, she gave birth to a daughter, Rowan. Two years later, the couple conceived another child, this time without the help of fertility procedures. Grier was born in 2005.
